Rasoul Sotoudehmanesh et al. Pharmacological prophylaxis versus pancreatic duct stenting plus pharmacological prophylaxis for prevention of post-ERCP pancreatitis in high risk patients: a randomized trial

Randomized controlled trial in more than 400 patients at high risk for post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) failed to show non-inferiority or inferiority in severity or incidence of PEP between patients receiving pharmacological prophylaxis alone vs. those receiving pharmacological prophylaxis and pancreatic duct stenting. Larger trials are needed.
