Ziel/Aim Our goal was to compare the recently developed CardioFreeze™ motion correction (Siemens Healthineers, Knoxville, TN, USA) with conventional gated positron emission tomography (PET).

Methodik/Methods Data of 40 patients who underwent cardiac PET under resting conditions mostly due do known coronary artery disease was obtained. Enddiastolic Volume (EDV), endsystolic volume (ESV) and secondary left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) were firstly computed by the proven conventional gated PET and secondly by CardioFreeze. The results were compared by two senior physicians.

Ergebnisse/Results The obtained data shows a very high correlation with a coefficient of 0.99 for EDV and ESV and 0.98 for LVEF between the two methods in the setting of cardiac PET/CT in a resting condition.

Schlussfolgerungen/Conclusions Cardio Freeze imaging technique may be considered as equivalent to established gated PET in calculating LVEF, ESV and EDV in patients.
