Significance

Spirobifluorene-containing compounds have found many uses in organic optoelectronic devices due to their thermal and morphological stabilities and high quantum efficiencies. The authors propose that linking oligospirobifluorenes at the ortho position would increase twisting between the repeat units and alter the photophysical properties.
