Significance
A semiconducting polymer is synthesized based on Stille copolymerization using dithienopyrrole (DTP) and diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) as strong donor and acceptor units, respectively. This polymer (poly-DTP-DPP) shows narrow band gap of 1.15 eV and hole mobility as high as 0.41 cm²/Vs in annealed thin films. Polymer organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) fabricated with different channel lengths exhibit reproducible p-channel mobility of 0.28 cm²/Vs ± 0.019 and on/off ratio of 10³-104.
