Significance
The authors report on the palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation (Pd-AAA) of heterocycles with vinyl aziridines. In general, heterocycles and vinyl aziridines have not been widely explored in this class of reactions. This methodology delivers a 1,2-diamine in which one of the nitrogens is part of a heterocyclic ring, a prevalent motif in a number of biologically relevant molecules.
