Summary

To date, the association of adult ADHD and personality disorders and personality structure respectively has received little scientific interest. Available results point to an association of distinct personality dimensions, namely affective weakness, low self-control, passive-avoidant behaviour, harm avoidance and novelty seeking as well as Cluster B and C personality disorders and a specific correlation with attention deficits and hyperactive-impulsive behaviour and ADHD-subtypes respectively.
