Capecitabin beim Kolonkarzinom: Aktuelle Studiendaten bestätigen hohe Wirksamkeit

Die Kombination XELOX – orales Fluoropyrimidin Capecitabin plus Oxaliplatin – ist auch in der adjuvanten Therapie des Kolonkarzinoms genauso wirksam wie das infusionale FOLFOX-Regime oder das intravenöse Bolus-Regime FLOX. Die Wirksamkeit von XELOX bleibt selbst dann erhalten, wenn die Dosis von Capecitabin (Xeloda®) modifiziert werden muss. Dies gilt sowohl für die adjuvante Therapie im Stadium III als auch für die Erst- und Zweitlinien-Therapie des metastasierten kolorektalen Karzinoms. Aktuelle, auf dem diesjährigen ASCO GI vorgestellte Daten der X-ACT- und XELOXA-Studie bestätigen zudem, dass die Wirksamkeit sowohl von Capecitabin mono als auch von XELOX unabhängig vom Alter ist.
