A survey of four classes of photochemical reactions that have been applied in recent synthetic work is presented. Examples are mainly drawn from applications to natural product chemistry. 1. Intramolecular Hydrogen Abstraction Reactions, 2. Photocyclization of Conjugated Systems, 3. Annelation Reactions, 4. Photosensitized Oxygenation.
