Einleitung
Der Einsatz von vollkeramischen Werkstoffen ermöglicht die Anfertigung von möglichst naturgetreuen, zahnfarbenen Restaurationen mit bester Biokompatibilität. Dabei haben Entwicklungen im Bereich der Werkstoffe und der dentalen Technologie das Spektrum der möglichen Versorgungsformen deutlich erweitert (Abb. [1] und [2]). Die Nachfrage nach ästhetisch hochwertigen Füllungen, Veneers und festsitzendem Zahnersatz ist in den letzten Jahrzehnten kontinuierlich gestiegen. Ebenso ist ein wachsendes Bewusstsein der Patienten für Fragen der Biokompatibilität zu verzeichnen. Aus der Vielfalt der zurzeit am Markt befindlichen Angebote muss für jeden Patienten individuell die am besten geeignete Restaurationsart in Verbindung mit dem optimalen Werkstoff indikationsabhängig gewählt werden.
