Significance
The construction of carbon-fluorine bonds is an important yet difficult task in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. Based on previous results on aminofluorination of styrenes (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2010, 132, 2856), the authors present a palladium-catalyzed tandem fluorination and cyclization of enynes to give vinyl fluorides.
