ALKALOIDS FROM COLCHICUM DÖRFLERI*

Abstract

From the corms, flowers and flower stalks of the plants of Colchicum dör fier i of Yougoslav origin, there were isolated and by thin-layer chromatography demonstrated (using several solvent systems and material for comparison) the alkaloids which together with their hRF–values were listed in the Table I. The colchicin was demonstrated in the corms only. A considerable amount of demecolcin (0,58 %) was isolated from the basic extract though it was previosly considered that colchicum plants blossoming in the spring do not contain this alkaloid.
