Abstract

A method is described for the separation of sugars and uronic acids occurring in plant extracts and hydrolysates using cellulose layers (Chromedia CC 41) 200 [xm thick. Multiple runs are recommended in a solvent system consisting of formic acid : water : tertiary butanol : methyl–ethyl–ketone 15 : 15 : 40 : 30.
