The Endoscopy Section of the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology is greatly honored to become an Affiliated Member of the Journal Endoscopy. We are looking forward to productive collaboration and believe that the excellent Journal's scientific articles will be of great help to improve standards of education and research of the members of our Section. We do hope that our members will be able to contribute with scientific research published in Endoscopy.

Greece has 11.000.000 inhabitants, and it is well known as a country with one of the oldest European civilizations. Greece has a long tradition in medicine since the ancient times of Hippocrates. Our country is also known for the beautiful countryside and islands.

The Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology was established 50 years ago and the Endoscopy Section of the Society was established in 1982. Our Endoscopy Section became member of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in 1994. Our Society was the first to organize in Athens the 1st European United Gastroenterology Week in 1992.

Becoming member of the Endoscopy's scientific community is an honor and duty for every European Endoscopy Society.
