Zusammenfassung

Die Rhizarthrose ist eine gehäuft bei Frauen vorkommende degenerative Erkrankung des Daumensattelgelenks. Die wesentliche Indikation zur Behandlung der Rhizarthrose ist der Schmerz. In den Stadien 1 und 2 nach Eaton u. Littler ist überwiegend ein konservativer, gelenkerhaltender Therapieversuch indiziert. Die Stadien 3 und 4 sind Domäne der operativen Therapie. Hierbei sind verschiedene operative Verfahren möglich, die Resektionsarthroplastik, die Arthrodese und der alloplastische Gelenkersatz, wobei die Resektionsarthroplastiken aufgrund ihrer guten Ergebnisse von über 90 % Patientenzufriedenheit den Goldstandard der operativen Behandlung der Rhizarthrose darstellen.
