Studies on the Chemistry of Mitomycins
Publication History
Publication Date:
08 March 2002 (online)
An overview of the systematic study on the mitomycin family is presented. New naturally occurring mitomycins and related novel compounds were isolated from a fermentation broth. Their structures were elucidated primarily based on NMR and MS spectra. Synthetic methods to afford related analogs have been developed. The extension of such study made it possible to give novel mitomycin analogs. 1. Introduction 2. Identification and Structural Elucidation of Mitomycins D, E, F, G, I, J, K, L, and M 3. Derivation of New Mitomycins Structurally Similar to Naturally Occurring Mitomycins from Conventional Mitomycins 3.1. 1a-Demethylmitomycins G and K 3.2. 9-epi-Mitomycins B and D 4. Identification and Structural Elucidation of Albomitomycin A and Isomitomycin A 5. "Mitomycin Rearrangement" and Effective Derivation of Albomitomycin A and Isomitomycin A from Mitomycin A 6. Derivation of New Mitomycins Based on the Novel Chemistry of Isomitomycin A 7. Derivation of New Mitomycins Based on the Analysis of 10-Decarbamoylation Reaction 8.
