The reaction of 2,3-dihydro-1,3,2-benzodiazaphosphinin-4(1H)-ones 1a-d with hexafluoroacetone took an unusual course with formation of the tricyclic phosphoranes 5a-d. Similar products 6a, c, d were obtained by treatment of 1a, c, d with tetrachloro-o-benzoquinone.
