A highly flexible method for solid phase synthesis of substituted 2,3-dihydroquinolin-4-ones has been developed. Two points of diversity can be introduced through the use of Grignard reagents and amines; a third position can be modified through two novel, oxidative cleavage reactions. Most compounds are obtained in purities exceeding 85%.
