Carbonyl compounds were regenerated from corresponding 1,3-oxathiolanes via equilibrium exchange with glyoxylic acid and Amberlyst 15 as the heterogeneous catalyst, under solvent free conditions.
Amberlyst 15 - 1,3-oxathiolane - microwave heating
