Die Erfassung der Belastung der Angehörigen psychisch erkrankter Menschen

Zusammenfassung

Anliegen: Es wird die deutsche Version des Involvement Evaluation Questionnaire (IEQ-EU) vorgestellt, die zur Erfassung der Belastung der Angehörigen psychisch Erkrankter entwickelt wurde. Außerdem werden die Ergebnisse der Reliabilitätsprüfung dargestellt. Methode: Die niederländische Version des IEQ-EU wurde übersetzt, an die deutschen Verhältnisse adaptiert und in einer Studie zur Kosten-Effektivitäts-Analyse psychiatrischer Versorgungssysteme eingesetzt. Die interne Konsistenz wurde bei einer Stichprobe von 138 Angehörigen überprüft und die Test-Retest-Reliabilität bei einer Stichprobe von 37 Angehörigen. Ergebnisse: Die Werte der internen Konsistenz (Cronbachs α) für die deutschsprachige Version des IEQ-EU sind geringfügig niedriger als die der übrigen europäischen Versionen. Alle Werte sind befriedigend oder gut. Die ermittelten Intraklassenkorrelationskoeffizienten entsprachen lediglich in einer Subskala nicht denen der europäischen Versionen. Schlussfolgerung: Mit dem IEQ-EU liegt ein Instrument vor, das befriedigende bis gute psychometrische Kennwerte aufweist, wichtige Bereiche der Belastung Angehöriger abdeckt, leicht zu verstehen und nicht zu zeitaufwändig ist.

The Assessment of Burden on Relatives of Mentally Ill People: The German Version of the Involvement Evaluation Questionnaire (IEQ-EU)

Aims: The German Version of the Involvement Evaluation Questionnaire (IEQ-EU), developed for the assessment of burden on relatives of mentally ill people will be presented. Also the results of the reliability analysis will be presented. Method: After translation and adaptation of the Dutch version of the IEQ-EU into German, the instrument was tested in the study „Cost-effectiveness of psychiatric service systems”. Results: The internal consistency was tested on a sub-sample of 138 relatives and the Test-Retest-Reliability on a sub-sample of 37 relatives. The internal consistency (Cronbachs α) is moderate or good and slightly lower in comparison with the other European versions. With the exception of one subscale the results for the intraclass correlation coefficient are equal to the European versions. Conclusions: The IEQ-EU is an instrument with moderate or good psychometric properties. It covers all important domains, is easy to understand and not time-consuming.
