Lebensqualität: Ein neues Thema in der Medizin?

Im Zuge der Auseinandersetzung mit Indikatoren des Behandlungserfolgs ist dem Begriff „gesundheitsbezogene Lebensqualität” in der Medizin in den letzten Jahren zunehmendes Interesse entgegengebracht worden. Der Begriff bezeichnet den von der Patientin erlebten Gesundheitszustand in kö rperlicher, psychischer, sozialer, mentaler und funktionaler Hinsicht. Zur Erfassung der Lebensqualität existieren eine Reihe von psychometrisch geprüften, standardisierten Messinstrumenten (Fragebogen), die in der Epidemiologie, in der Therapieevaluation, der Gesundheitsökonomie und in der Qualitätssicherung eingesetzt werden. Im vorliegenden Artikel wird ein kurzer Einblick in die Lebensqualitätsforschung unter konzeptuellem, methodischem und anwendungsbezogenem Aspekt gegeben. Bereiche der Lebensqualitä tsforschung in der Gynäkologie berühren die Onkologie (Mammakarzinom), neuere Anwendungsgebiete betreffen die Reproduktionsmedizin und die Patientin in der Menopause. Eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Lebensqualität in der Gynä kologie und Geburtshilfe erscheint sinnvoll, um die Effekte von Behandlung und Betreuung auch aus Sicht der Patientinnen erfassbar zu machen.
