Abstract
Aldol processes of aldehydes with secondary alcohols were observed by using a LiClO4-amine reagent under very mild conditions. Unusual regio- and stereoselectivities observed during this new transformation are discussed. Stereotriades as well as stereopentades with configurations previously unattainable by aldol methodologies were isolated.
