α-Lithiated Aryloxiranes: Useful Reactive Intermediates
Publication History
Publication Date:
02 May 2005 (online)

Abstract
This account focuses on the generation of α-lithiated aryloxiranes such as lithiated oxazolinylaryloxiranes, lithiated styrene-, phenylpropylene- and stilbene oxides, their chemical and configurational stability, reactivity and some synthetic applications. It is shown how these special reagents have been successfully employed for the preparation of a variety of substances including polysubstituted aryloxiranes, highly strained heterocyclic compounds, α,β-epoxy-γ-butyrolactones, cyclopropane carboxylates.
