Zur Problematik des Wirksamkeitsnachweises in der Homöopathie (Teil 1)

Zusammenfassung

Therapeutische Erfolge der Homöopathie werden von ihren Gegnern häufig als Place-bowirkungen betrachtet. Placebos sind in der Lage, universelle Wirkungen hervorzurufen. Einflußgrößen ihrer Wirkung sowie Erklärungsansätze und Indikationen werden beschrieben. Die Untersuchung einer möglichen therapeutischen Differenz zwischen Homöotherapie und Placebo anhand neuerer kontrollierter Doppelblinstudien kommt zu dem Schluß, daß es der Homöopathie ungeachtet einer Reihe von Schwierigkeiten gelungen ist, für einige Indikationen und einzelne Mittel mit epidemiologischen Methoden statistisch gesicherte Wirksamkeitsnachweise zu erbringen.

Summary

Therapeutic success of homoeopathy often is considered as a placebo effect by the opponents. Placebos are capable of causing universal effects. Variables of effectiveness as well as starting points of explanation and indications will be described. The investigation of a possible therapeutic difference between homoeopathy and placebo with the aid of recent controlled doubleblind trials comes to the conclusion that in spite of a few difficulties homoeopathy has succeeded in prooving statistically significant results for some indications and drugs by means of epidemiological methods.
