Abstract

This chapter provides a detailed description of the pertinent anatomy and embryology of the lacrimal system, followed by a discussion of the evaluation of the tearing infant. Management recommendations are detailed including the timing of intervention, minimally invasive treatments, and finally surgical management including probing and irrigation, turbinate infracture, and silicone intubation. Adjunctive treatment options including balloon dacryoplasty and nasal endoscopy are also discussed.
