Summary
At the time of writing this chapter, follicular unit excision (FUE) has been a part of hair restoration surgery for over 15 years. The technique has progressed steadily throughout this time. We are currently in a particularly creative period in which new devices have been developed that incorporate innovative technology that promises to move the accuracy and reliability of FUE significantly ahead. This chapter will showcase four of the more important new devices: the 4D FUE system invented by T.K. Shiao of Taiwan; the Mamba Suction-Assisted FUE system by Roberto Trivellini of Paraguay, the WAW FUE system developed by Jean Devroye of Belgium, and the UGraft FUE system created by S. Umar.
