Menschen mit chronischen Schmerzen wird oft mit Argwohn und Unverständnis begegnet. Die Patienten erscheinen mitunter behandlungsresistent, oder sie boykottieren physiotherapeutische Ratschläge. Wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse über das komplexe Zusammenspiel von Nerven-, Immun- und Hormonsystem eröffnen jetzt neue Wege für die erfolgreiche Therapie chronischer Schmerzpatienten. Fazit: Wer unter chronischen Schmerzen leidet, muss zum Experten seiner Schmerzen werden – nur so steigt seine Chance, im Leben aktiv und handlungsfähig zu bleiben.
