Zusammenfassung

Beckenfrakturen im Kindesalter sind selten. Das grundsätzliche Verständnis von Instabilität und Klassifikation ist dabei ähnlich dem der Erwachsenen, wobei es jedoch bestimmte Frakturcharakteristika wie das kräftige Periost, die hohe Knochenelastizität und die Wachstumsfugen gibt. Neben der speziellen Physiologie ist dies konsequenterweise bei Diagnostik und Therapie dieser Verletzungen zu berücksichtigen. Dieser Artikel gibt einen Überblick über aktuelle Behandlungskonzepte.

Abstract

Pelvic fractures in childhood are a rare event. The basic understanding of instability and classification is not different from adults, however, certain fracture characteristics in children such as a thick periosteum, a high elasticity of the bone and growth plates are distinct. Consequently, this should be considered in diagnostics and treatment additionally to the specific physiology. This educative article reviews current treatment standards.
