Pharmakologische Einteilung der Sympathomimetika ([Abb. 1]) [2]

Direkte Sympathomimetika aktivieren biochemisch membranständige Adrenorezeptoren, indirekte Pharmaka wirken über Noradrenalin-Wiederaufnahmehemmung/-Abbauhemmung (MAO- und COMT-Abbauenzymhemmung, Noradrenalin [NA, = Norepinephrin, NE]) [3].

Genetische Rezeptorvariabilitäten und Veränderungen der Rezeptordichte/-aktivität bei Erkrankungen führen zu einer hohen Komplexität in der klinischen Notfallpharmakologie.

Der Notarzt wird oft zu einem „Sympathomimetikapiloten ohne Tower bei schlechter Sicht“.
