Introduction
The number of contact lens wearers worldwide is estimated to be 140 million and is increasing annually. Thirty-five percent of them reported experiencing at least 1 contact lens-related complication. Frequent complications are hypoxia-induced changes, infectious conjunctivitis and keratitis, dryness, discomfort, and mechanical conditions reducing corneal sensitivity [1]. A tumorous swelling caused by migration of the lens into the eyelid is a very rare complication of hard contact lens wearing [2], [3], [4], [5]. We present a case of a lost contact lens with interesting aspects and typical asymptomatic development.
