Chronischer Arthrose-Schmerz unterliegt komplexen Kontroll- und Modulationsmechanismen in der Peripherie und im ZNS. Eine zentrale Sensibilisierung muss rechtzeitig identifiziert werden. Ansonsten bleiben herkömmliche konservative, medikamentöse und operative Therapieansätze erfolglos. Ein praktikables Testverfahren hilft zu erkennen, welcher Schmerzmechanismus bei Gonarthrose-Patienten dominant und welche Behandlungsstrategie effektiv ist.
