Arthrose ist nicht heilbar. Der Schaden an Knorpel und Knochen ist irreversibel. Schmerzen und Bewegungsdefizite prägen das klinische Bild der Volkskrankheit. Um ein Fortschreiten der Degeneration zu verhindern und die Beschwerden des Patienten zu lindern, bieten sich zahlreiche physiotherapeutische Interventionen an. Nicht alle sind effektiv, um die Symptomquellen und Schmerzmechanismen in den Griff zu bekommen.
