Für die Behandlung der posttraumatischen Belastungsstörung (PTBS) im Kindes- und Jugendalter liegen positive Nachweise für unterschiedliche Interventionen vor. Der vorliegende Artikel bietet einen Überblick über Besonderheiten von Diagnostik und Behandlung in dieser Altersgruppe. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt soll der Darstellung der Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) zukommen, einem gut evaluierten Verfahren, das erfolgreich für das Jugendalter adaptiert werden konnte.
