Das Interesse an der Darmflora nimmt auch in der Onkologie rapide zu: So beeinflussen Darmbakterien bekanntlich das Ansprechen auf Checkpoint-Inhibitoren. Eine neue Studie zeigt jetzt, dass die Zusammensetzung des intestinalen Mikrobioms auch Auswirkungen auf den Erfolg hämatopoetischer Stammzelltransplantationen (HSZT) und das Risiko für Graft-versus-Host-Erkrankungen (GVHD) hat.
