Cerumen obturans kann das Hörvermögen einschränken und den Gehörgang reizen. Häufig betroffen sind Kinder und ältere Menschen [1]. Durch eine Ohrenspülung lässt sich das Problem einfach und schnell beheben [2]. Die Ohrenspülung gehört zu den am häufigsten durchgeführten Maßnahmen zur Entfernung von Zerumen und wird insbesondere in Hausarztpraxen einer Extraktion mit Instrumenten vorgezogen [3].

Abstract

Cerumen impaction is a common consultation issue at general medical practices and causes symptoms like hearing loss, itching, pain or tinnitus. Without any indication of eardrum perforation, ear irrigation with warm water is a safe, effective and fast aid.
