Sollten Patienten mit schweren und wiederkehrenden Infektionen mit Clostridium difficile lieber eine Stuhltransplantation erhalten anstatt einer Antibiotikatherapie? Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt eine italienische Kohortenstudie. Hier schnitt die Stuhltransplantation hinsichtlich der Häufigkeit einer Sepsis, der Hospitalisationsdauer sowie beim Gesamtüberleben (OS) besser ab als die medikamentöse Behandlung. Allerdings gibt es bei der Interpretation der Daten einige Unklarheiten.
