Zusammenfassung

Sisymbrium officinale (L.) Scop., die Wegrauke, ist eine weltweit verbreitete Pflanze, die v. a. Glucosinolate wie Glucoputranjivin sowie Schleimstoffe und Flavonoide enthält. Eine phytochemische Besonderheit ist das Auftreten von Cardenolidglykosiden. Die Droge weist vielfältige pharmakologische Aktivitäten auf, zu der antibakterielle und antimutagene Effekte zählen. Ihre Anwendung als traditionelles Arzneimittel bei Reizungen im Rachenraum, wie Heiserkeit und bei trockenem Husten, wird durch eine HMPC-Monografie beschrieben.

Hedge mustard, Sisymbrium officinale (L.) Scop.

Sisymbrium officinale (L.) Scop. (hedge mustard) is a globally growing herb which is known for its content of glucosinolates, like glucoputranjivin as well mucilages and flavonoids. The occurrence of cardenolids is a specific phytochemical marker. The drug shows diverse pharmacological activities which include antibacterial and antimutagenic effects. According to a HMPC monograph, hedge mustard is used as traditional herbal medicinal product for the relief of throat irritation such as hoarseness and dry cough.
