Carlos Robles-Medranda et al. Endoscopic ultrasonography-guided deployment of embolization coils and cyanoacrylate injection in gastric varices versus coiling alone: a randomized trial

The technical success of endoscopic ultrasonography-guided coil embolization for gastric varices with or without cyanoacrylate injection was compared in this randomized trial. Although the technical success was 100 % in both groups, rebleeding from gastric varices was significantly higher in the coiling-alone group (20 % vs 3.3 %), as was the reintervention rate (40 % vs 16.7 %).
