Einleitung

Kontinuitätsunterbrechungen im Sehnenverlauf der Rotatorenmanschette entstehen traumatisch oder degenerativ und werden je nach Ausmaß als Rotatorenmanschettenkomplett- oder -teilruptur bezeichnet.

Die Prävalenz beträgt im Mittel rund 20% und nimmt mit zunehmendem Alter signifikant zu:

  • 5. Lebensjahrzehnt: 13%

  • 6. Lebensjahrzehnt: 20%

  • 8. Lebensjahrzehnt: 51%
