Zusammenfassung
Ayurveda ist eine umfassende wissenschaftliche Heilkunde und Gesundheitslehre, die auf eine rund 2000-jährige Tradition zurückblickt. In Indien ist Ayurveda ein öffentlich anerkanntes Medizinsystem, international wird er meist als komplementäre Medizin praktiziert und erforscht. In diesem Beitrag werden einige grundlegende Aspekte der ayurvedischen Wissenschaft vor allem in Bezug auf Diagnose und Therapie vorgestellt, und eine Kasuistik illustriert beispielhaft die klinische Anwendung von Ayurveda in Deutschland.
Abstract
Ayurveda denotes a comprehensive scholarly system of medicine, which looks back at 2000 years of documented tradition. In India Ayurveda is an officially recognized medical system, while internationally it is usually practiced and researched as a system of complementary medicine. In this article some basic aspects of the ayurvedic science with special reference to diagnosis and therapy will be presented. A case study illustrates the application of Ayurveda in a German hospital.
