Entzündliche Erkrankungen des Herzens können alle Schichten des Herzens betreffen: das Endokard und die Herzklappen (Endokarditis), den Herzmuskel (Myokarditis) und den Herzbeutel (Perikarditis). Es handelt sich um ernstzunehmende Erkrankungen, die unbehandelt schwere Komplikationen mit sich bringen können. In der Notaufnahme gilt es daher, die richtige Verdachtsdiagnose zu stellen und eine rasche strukturierte Diagnostik in die Wege zu leiten.
