Interrupted Chain of Transmission in a Pediatric COVID-19 Case

Introduction

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been emerging since its first detection in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. It was classified as a pandemic by the WHO on March 11^th 2020. Interrupting chains of transmission is the main strategy for preserving public health during the pandemic. Data regarding the contribution of children to the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 have been limited.

This is a report on a 9-year-old girl who was infected by SARS-CoV-2 by an unknown vector. To the best of our knowledge, no other person became infected by her. Details of this case could support a better understanding of how a chain of transmission can be interrupted in pediatric cases.
