Wurzelkanal-Sealer – modern versus bewährt
Moderne Wurzelkanal-Sealer auf der Basis von Kalzium-Silikaten haben in den vergangenen Jahren Einzug in die Praxis erhalten. Dabei verdrängen sie bewährte Sealer und verändern auch den Blick auf Wurzelkanalfülltechniken. Dieser Beitrag vergleicht moderne Kalzium-Silikat-basierte und bewährte Sealer in Bezug auf klinisch relevante In-vitro-Daten, In-vivo-Daten und veränderte Anforderungen an die Aufbereitung und Füllung des Wurzelkanals.

Wurzelkanal-Sealer, die Aldehydverbindungen oder Kortikoide freisetzen oder durch ihre Bestandteile das Immunsystem regulieren, sollten nicht mehr eingesetzt werden.

Als klinisch bewährt und empfehlenswert gelten Epoxidharz-basierte Sealer, die durch eine additionsvernetzende Abbindereaktion kein Formaldehyd freisetzen.

Kalzium-Silikat-basierte Sealer bieten eine klinisch bewährte moderne Alternative zu klassischen Wurzelkanal-Sealern.

Kalzium-Silikat-basierte Sealer wirken in der Abbindephase und darüber hinaus durch die Freisetzung von Kalziumhydroxid antibakteriell.

Kalzium-Silikat-basierte Sealer sind sehr gut biokompatibel und zudem bioaktiv, da sie durch ihre Bestandteile bei Kontakt zu Gewebe Heilungsprozesse anregen.
