Art in Endoscopy: “This colon has a heart! Does it have feelings too?”

After this perfectly “heart-shaped” colonic polyp was removed by endoscopic mucosal resection, pathology revealed a sessile serrated adenoma (or “sessile serrated lesion,” to use the term recommended by the World Health Organization in 2019 in preference to sessile serrated adenoma or polyp). Ironically, this procedure was done around the time of Valentine’s Day in February, when an abundance of heart-shaped chocolates, candies, and other products are given and received as gifts.
