Abstract
Today, mycotherapy - synonymously also called fungal medicine - is widely used therapeutically, especially in the treatment of numerous civilization diseases. The mycotherapeutic knowledge mainly handed down from TCM has meanwhile been confirmed by numerous investigations and studies. A large number of the bioactive ingredients of vital or medicinal mushrooms have been analyzed and numerous mechanisms of action have been identified. The knowledge gained shows that mushrooms improve the situation in diseases associated with dyslipidemia, both as food as well as a vital mushroom therapeutic.
