Herausforderung prothetische Rehabilitation bei Patienten mit Mundtrockenheit
Eine Näherung an einem exemplarischen Fallbeispiel
Mundtrockenheit ist eine weitverbreitete Erkrankung der Mundhöhle und betrifft etwa jeden 5. Erwachsenen. Vor allem bei älteren Patienten nimmt ihre Prävalenz aufgrund von Polymorbidität und -pharmazie zu. Während die subjektiv empfundene Mundtrockenheit (Xerostomie) eine deutliche Einschränkung der Lebensqualität bedeuten kann, stellt die objektive Abwesenheit von Speichel (Hyposalivation) vor allem für die zahnärztliche Behandlung eine Herausforderung dar. Anhand eines exemplarischen Fallbeispiels soll eine Option der prothetischen Rehabilitation aufgezeigt werden und als Orientierung für eine mögliche Behandlung dienen.
