Affenpocken – eine neue Geschlechtskrankheit
Monkeypox – a new sexual transmitted diseaseZusammenfassung
Abstract
It is under discussion how and via which route the spread of monkeypox infections has increased in Europe. We are showing with our two monkeypox case reports the histopathological characteristics and differences to other viral infections, such as sheep pox or herpes simplex infections. In addition, due to the clinically similar presentation of monkeypox to other STDs with genital ulcerations and lymphadenopathies, as well as the frequent coinfections with other STDs, we would like to suggest the differential diagnostic inclusion in the common STD routine diagnostics.
