Ein lebensbedrohlicher Schnupfen mit visuellen Folgen

Hintergrund

Rhinozerebrale Mykosen stellen nach wie vor eine relevante Bedrohung für eine Vielzahl von Patienten dar, trotz großer Fortschritte in Form medikamentöser und chirurgischer Therapien. Jede Form der Immunsuppression, aber auch ein schlecht eingestellter Diabetes, prädisponieren für diese Art einer lebensbedrohlichen Infektion [1]. Im Rahmen der COVID-19-Pandemie zeigte sich ebenfalls eine Assoziation mit der Coronavirusinfektion und ein starker Anstieg der Fallzahlen [2].
