Author commentary on Giulia Gibiino et al.
Endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) is a challenging technique and this retrospective study, performed in 17 Italian centers with experience in EFTR, proposes classifying three different types of technical failure that should be known, recognized, and managed effectively. The study further underlines that endoscopic resections, whatever the technique used, need expertise not only in resection, but also in the management of adverse events.
