Kommentar zu „Semaglutid verbessert mit Herzinsuffizienz verbundene Symptome“

Die Schnittmenge für 2 Volkskrankheiten mit steigender Prävalenzrate – Herzinsuffizienz mit erhaltener linksventrikulärer Funktion (HFpEF) und Adipositas – ist sehr groß und mit einer hohen Morbidität und Mortalität assoziiert. Für beide Entitäten stehen bislang die Prävention durch Lebensstil-Maßnahmen, symptomatische Bemühungen und die Behandlung der zahlreichen und relevanten Komorbiditäten im Vordergrund. Die einzige prognostische pharmakologische Therapie-Option für HFpEF sind bisher die SGLT2-Inhibitoren Empagliflozin und Dapagliflozin. Daher besteht Bedarf für weitere Behandlungsmöglichkeiten.
