Abstract

We have developed a one-pot process for preparing sulfonyl azides by treating sulfonic acids with trichloroacetonitrile, triphenylphosphine, and sodium azide at room temperature. A wide range of sulfonyl azides was synthesized in excellent yields under mild conditions.
